Description:

I hosted a similar swap in October - November 2010 and in June 2011 in the group called Galactic Association of Silly Persons and here it comes again, this time open for anyone who qualifies.

Many of the good things have a hole in them.

For this swap, you'll take a piece of string. It can be ribbon, yarn, twine or anything else you can think of as a string of some sort. A good length would be something like as long as it is from your thumb to your elbow. Could be more or less, it's up to you.

Then you take some 10 different objects that you can put on the string. For that they must have a hole or a loop or something so you can pass the string through them. Tying a knot is not an option here.

What the objects should be, then? Let's make this half sender's choice and half profile based. Beads (depending on the size and style, use 1-5 for one "object"), rings, key rings, buttons (same rules as with beads), rolls of tape, keys, safety pins, purse charms, scissors, millstones, car tires, Ferris wheels... Anything, that can be put on the string. Please pick something your partner will be able to use somehow: no crap, trash or rubbish or anything they claim to hate. Some parts could be handmade by you, store bought, thrifted, from your stash... As long as it's cool and silly and usable.

When you're done, tie the ends of your string so the objects won't fall off, pack safely and send it to your partner.

The picture is a poor example of what I was thinking of put together in two minutes out of stuff I had near my desk. Do better than that!

millstones! lol :)

I'm still looking forward to receiving my first Ferris wheel. Might need to pick that up at the post office as it wouldn't probably fit through my letterbox.

Dang, how did you guess I'm in need of a new car tire? I've got one that keeps going flat...I'm in!!

I would so much like to join but it's just the time of my travelling. I hope there will be a next time!

Elisabeth, this is the third round so I'm fairly sure there will be a fourth sometime. I tend to like this swap. Maybe you'll get to join later.

I really like this idea, just can't make it work this time. I'm looking forward to seeing another similar swap!
