Description:

There's a great thread in the forums under Random Ideas that provides a link to an easy way to adhere your decorative dinner/cocktail napkins to cardstock for crafting purposes--much easier than using wet adhesives or glue stick! Check it out, and get inspired to join this swap!

You will have two partners and will swap 10 different, beautiful napkins with each. These should be lovely napkins--patterned, floral, or with images. Please NO holiday-themed ones, unless your partner specifies in the comments below that they don't mind receiving them.

I recommend removing at least one ply, to reduce mailing weight/postage costs. This swap is US only. (Anybody is welcome to start an international swap). No recent 1's or 3's. Newbies are welcome with a well-filled out profile. I reserve the right to ban anyone if I see anything that gives me hesitation or concern.

I find really gorgeous, cheap napkins at Tuesday Mornings and T.J. Max. If you have any other tips for finding napkins, post in the comments below!

Are they to be all the same or can they be different?

turtlelady45 05/ 3/2012 #

Your description says 'international' but you state it's US only....please correct. Thanx!

SherriB 05/ 3/2012 #

I did--thanks!

Your napkins should all be different--I'll go back and clarify that in the swap directions. Good thing I have all you ladies to keep me straight around here! :)

Have never done this kind of swap so are you talking about paper napkins? Can they be old ones meaning been in sack and not used but like antique ones?

SherriB 05/ 3/2012 #

Yes, paper/dinner napkins is what I'm talking about. I think antique ones would be wonderful, if you can stand to part with them. Yes, unused, please! :)

craftybarbie 05/ 3/2012 #

My mother inlaw always used very different napkins so I have a box full of all kinds of real old ones and real different so this will be fun to let other people enjoy them too. Thank you

Yay! I am in. The only thing that I recommend is that when mailing, -it would be nice if the napkins were sandwiched between two pcs. of card stock (cut down file folders work nicely for this too) and tape the card stock on 2 sides so that they don't slide, wrinkle up, or worse in the envelope.

SherriB 05/ 4/2012 #

Yes--this is especially important if you remove the back plys, as the napkins become much more fragile.

NaughtyElf 05/ 6/2012 #

Honestly, I wouldn't concern myself too much by removing the extra layers it's not going to reduce the weight that much and could be more of a hassle than anything, I wouldn't mind paying the extra pocket change, but that's me, and wouldn't except that from anyone else. I love this swap and think it's a great idea!

I bought 2 more pks of pretty napkins today-couldn't resist. :)

I have received Christmas napkins in past swaps, so I'm going to send some along as "extras" (I don't care for Christmas-themed items)...since nobody has said they would mind receiving holiday designs. :)

turtlelady45 05/16/2012 #

I have my napkins ready to mail! I bought several more packages of napkins the other day, even though I already had enough!! I would not mind if there are a few holiday-themed napkins from my partner. (=^.^=)

flofirenzie 05/16/2012 #

Will we be rated down if we do not separate the back from the napkins?

Newsgurl75 05/16/2012 #

I am so happy to see that I am not the only one that buys napkins by bulk. I cannot wait I share!

MorahLaura 05/18/2012 #

I certainly won't rate anyone down for not removing the back layer...it's a pain in the neck!

SherriB 05/19/2012 #

No, you won't get rated down--removing the backs is totally optional.
