Description:

Make 3 ATC's using stamps you have hand-carved (You'll be sending 1 to each of your 3 swap partners). If you've been wanting to try this technique, here's the push to do it! You don't have to be Monet to carve an eraser and make a fun design. Find some very basic instructions at http://members.aol.com/Letterboxr/carving.html and see some of my creations at http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/merc3805/my_photos in the hand-carved folder. You can use other materials in your ATC, but please make the main design using one or more carved stamps.

Do we only send one ATC to each partner? This is a great idea. I just started letterboxing. I only collected 3 stamps in my log book but love letterboxing. It combines two of my favorite things hiking and art. Plus the whole family can do it.

What is letterboxing?

Cearbhallain,

The url below will help explain letterboxing better than I can. It is fun. You can do it alone, with friends, spouse, children even your dog. Men like the carving and hiking aspects. Although not all letterbox searches involve hiking; some are in doors or "drive by" and some are even handicap accessible.

So it's like geocaching, but with art. Cool, thanks.

Holy crap! Letterboxing?! My mind is reeling at the concept. I looked and there are a dozen in as many miles from my home. Thanks for the heads-up.

Letterboxing is the greatest! I did leave behind my personal stamp by accident next to a box in in Conway, New Hampshire! Sad! I hope someone finds it and it gets to be used, not spend eternity lost in the woods! Cyn

FYI--don't click on any of the ads in this page (or any others in the Swap-bot comment lists for that matter) I accidently clicked on one and got the worst piece of Spyware imaginable. It hijacked my homepage and was a keylog, info stealer, dataminer! Not Good!! Thank goodness for Spybot:Search and Destroy and my dh who was checking out my 'puter yesterday! Be very careful where you click, it's not a happy place to be! Cyn

I recieved a wonderfulll hand carved ATC from Katherine Coulter...smile...thank you ...I really like the way you collaged the top and bottom with your carving in the center...after stamping I like to know other ways of adding to the design.... Dreamstealer

Kathy C. Dreamstealer...glad you liked the card. I received delightful cards from Carrie M. and Cyn R. They are displayed here on my desk. A fun swap! Kathy C.
