Quotecard Postcard is a monthly postcard swap held to share a little zinger of wisdom/humour/etc with your partners. This is a pretty basic postcard swap. The only catch is that it MUST contain one of your favorite quotes. You can either incorporate this into the design of your postcard if you prefer handmade... or if you use a purchased or found postcard, you must include this quote on the back of the card.

Please say where the quote is from or give the credit where it's due. Do not forget to also include the swap name and your user name on the card!

You will send out 3 of these cards one to each partner possibly across the globe. They should be postmarked! Please DO NOT send in an envelope.

I will ban if i see multiple no-sends or an incomplete profile.

Happy swapping to all! Contact me with any questions!

Glad I clicked on your profile, Nicole, and saw this one was already up! :)

maybethismoon 01/18/2008 #

This will be my first swap. I have a fully filled out profile. I have tons of ideas already! I'm so excited to get my partner list :D

Welcome to the swapping world maybethismoon!

To my partners, I'd prefer my p/c in an envie, if that's okay!

The swap description state that postcards NOT be put in an envelope. However; if your partners agree they can send in one. Your partners may not see this in comments and should not be rated down if they send according to swap directions.

Thanks!

Hi...just wondering what size should the postcard be? Thanks

nicole 02/ 3/2008 #

There is no restriction on size. Just know that it costs extra postage to send anything larger than 4 x 6.

I just joined. I'm new to the site, but not to swapping. I have a favorite quote all picked out. I love postcards too, so this was an obvious choice. I have plenty on my profile, but if you wanna know more, just ask! YAY!

iamlillian 02/ 8/2008 #

sorry...just wondering...do we get allocated to our partners? thanks.

costruire 02/12/2008 #

I am new to this as well, and was wondering the same as iamlillian above.

pahasiga 02/13/2008 #

First of all, you will need to wait until sign-up date has passed - how could you get your partners when the list of participants is not final yet (somebody else may join, somebody may still drop the swap)? So when it is February 16 (swap-bot time) and no-one can join or drop anymore, nicole will ban people she thinks will not fulfill this swap and assign partners.

iamlillian 02/14/2008 #

right right...Thanks, Pahasiga.

I notice you suggest if one uses a store-bought card, you can write a quote on the back. I am sure I will do that with at one of my swaps, but there are many postcards published with excellent, inspiring & humorous quotes on the front side. On my website, there are probably over 100 offered. A quick search with the word "quote" turns up over 50 postcards, with quotes on the front from Alice Walker, Gandhi, Mae West, Thich Nhat Hahn, Ben Franklin, Che Guevara, Donald Rumsfeld, Helen Keller, Buddha, Margaret Mead, Martin Luther King, Einstein, Chief Joseph, George W Bush, Maya Angelou, & Kahlil Gibran, as well as anonymous quotes from Tibet, Africa, Cree Indians & others. Swap participants may wish to check them out, if only for inspiration... at www.changingworld.com

Hi angellisey9, Biolette and maybethismoon keep an eye out in 7 to 10 days as yours are winging their way to you from NZ :-)

(I know I'm a bit slow) "The swap description state that postcards NOT be put in an envelope. However; if your partners agree they can send in one. Your partners may not see this in comments and should not be rated down if they send according to swap directions. "

Yes I know, I won't be rating anyone down, I just post that here incase someone sees it.
