Comment: Sorry for the delay in rating but my mother just gave me a bag of mail from the last few months and this swap was in it. In reading your note it was like I could have written it about my daughter. She's 6 and also diagnosed with mild autism. She also was originally diagnosed with a speech delay and physical delay at 14 months. But at 28 months her diagnosis was changed to mild autism. She doesn't " name" her toys either. When you ask her the name of a doll she says it's name is Dolly and a stuffed dog is named "Puppy". She has issues with acknowledging feelings or apologizing. And her joke telling is horrible. She very interested in science, medical tv shows, chemistry, animals, space and dinosaurs. She struggles alot with reading and now math because now she's in the end of first grade reading is involved in math. And her sense of humor also needs work lol. She tells "jokes" that make sense only to her.
